The questions we’re asked before every job.
How long will my renovation take?
A standard main bathroom is typically 3–4 weeks on site, a kitchen 3–5 weeks, and a multi-room project 6–10 weeks. You’ll receive a program with your contract showing each stage and its dates, and a written update every Friday against that program.
Is the quote actually fixed, or will it move?
It’s fixed. Your contract price only changes if you change the scope, or if something genuinely unforeseen is found once we open up a wall or floor — and in that case we stop, show you, price it, and get your written approval before proceeding. Nothing is ever added to your invoice without a signature.
Can I live at home during the renovation?
In most cases yes. We set up dust barriers and floor protection, agree working hours with you upfront, clean down at the end of every day, and where we’re renovating your only bathroom we’ll program the works to minimise the days it’s out of action and discuss options with you before we start.
Do I need council or strata approval?
Most like-for-like bathroom and kitchen renovations need neither. In a strata building, work classed as a “minor renovation” under section 110 of the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 generally requires an ordinary resolution of the owners corporation, and structural or waterproofing work usually needs a by-law. We’ll tell you exactly what applies to your property at the on-site consultation and help you prepare the paperwork.
How do I know my waterproofing has been done properly?
Because you’ll have it in writing. Wet areas are waterproofed to AS 3740 by a licensed waterproofer, flood-tested before tiling, and you receive a signed waterproofing certificate at handover along with your warranty documentation.
Why is your quote higher than the cheap one I received?
Usually because ours includes what theirs excludes. Compare the quotes line by line for: waterproofing certification, licensed electrical and plumbing, Home Building Compensation cover, rubbish removal, make-good and painting, and the PC allowances for tiles and tapware. A quote without those isn’t cheaper — it’s incomplete.
Which areas of Sydney do you service?
We work across the Sydney metropolitan area and regional NSW, including the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Hills District, St George, Sutherland Shire, Parramatta and Western Sydney. If you’re outside these areas, ask us — we travel for the right project.
